The Roots of Rebellion

What caused Franklin Graham and George Eastman to rebel? They rebelled to gain something.

Franklin gained confidence and self-worth by succeeding in challenging whatever system he was in. If there was a rule, he would bend it as far as he could while managing to not exactly break it. However, along with the thrill of challenging the system came an increasingly tarnished reputation.

George rebelled to get all the things he desired. George's family, the Eastmans, gave him the opportunity to climb the corporate and social ladder. However, George would have to give up a few things, such as a female factory worker he had his eye on, in order to continue to receive these opportunities. This was not enough for George. So, he began to meet with the young factory worker, Alice, in secret. Later, when Alice becomes pregnant, George lures her out onto the lake to kill her, but decides against it. However, In a terrible accident, the boat tips over, Alice drowns, and George is convicted of murdering her.

So, Franklin Graham and George Eastman rebelled against the rules to gain something: Franklin- confidence and self-esteem; George- romance and success. However, they also gained more than they wanted: Franklin- a poor reputation; George- a murder conviction.

Good Day, GA.

That's right. Tomorrow morning me, my youngest sister, Natalie, and my mother are driving to Atlanta for my first college trip to SCAD (Savannah College of Art and Design). Me and my mom will be staying at this new, swanky, contemporary hotel, Hotel Indigo. I'm really excited about staying there because I've seen inside Nashville's Hotel Indigo while visiting a Japanese restaurant next to it. It looks beautiful! My younger sister will be staying with her best friend who used to our neighbor.
I'm looking forward to visiting the school, checking out the campus, completing a workshop, and scoping out housing. While I will probably be attending college at their Savannah campus (which is more fashion based), I'm looking forward to the trip!
Now, If I could only decide what to wear... haha!

To Be or Not to Be...Convinced?

That is the question.

I'm a pretty black and white person. There is hardly ever any grey in my mind, which can be both good and bad. So when I am convinced about something- I am convinced and the only person who could ever change that is me, myself. I'm not easily swayed; peer pressure doesn't exist to me. Everyone can jump off a bridge if they want, Ill be the person who dials 911. lol. I'm perfectly fine with doing my own thing.
I know whats true to me and whats not; however, I'm not sure if I could compile a list of those things. I will say that I do believe in God and the Bible.
I'm convinced that if one sets his/her mind to it, he/she could accomplish anything they want- if he/she truly wanted it. I don't expect people to be convinced of the same things I am, nor do I look down on them because they don't. We all have different minds and opinions- that, I know, is true. So, are you convinced or are you not? Don't let anyone make that decision for you. Just because twenty people believe so, does not mean that it is true. You won't always have the answers to everything-I know I don't- but be confident in your own answers, what you believe to be true, what you are convinced of.

This is Me

Well hello, people! Welcome to my highly anticipated blog- haha!

So for my first post I will be talking about myself. Easy huh? uuuhhmm...No. I'm more of a "get to know me/you" kind of person; but I will do the best I can.

So for starters, lets talk about my hobbies and interests- what I do. I'm extremely fashion conscious...more like obsessed. lol. I design, illustrate and, and make clothing- and shop for it. : )
I'm your best and worst shopping buddy. Best because I will find anything you want and do it in record time; worst- because I will convince you to buy anything and everything you consider purchasing. lol.

I love the city of Chicago and would love to live there. I wanted to move their right after high school, but unfortunately, the best school for my fashion interests is not located there.

I'm also a bit of a computer nerd. For a while I wanted to be a graphics designer. I plan on making a few things for this blog. So keep your eyes open. : )

I love to sing and act. I've been singing and doing plays since I can remember. Music is a big passion of mine. I like all sorts of music. I don't like much country or rap though- I'm more of a rock chick. lol.

Of course, I also like to write. There's much more to the extent of my interests- but basically I'm one of those artsy nerds- but a stylish one at that! ...at least i hope so. lol.

I'm also a bit of a coffee addict. I LOVE it. Hazelnut all the way. I also put a shot of espresso in anything and everything. I'm up for trying any kind of coffee drink- except that chi stuff. lol. YUCK! Just about anytime you see me outside of class, I will have either a cup if coffee or a bottle of Lipton Green Tea with Citrus. I would also say I'm addicted to green tea. I go through about a case or two per week. I don't drink water cause I think it taste terrible (Yes, just like the little girl on Signs), so green tea is my substitute. lol

I'm also CRAZY addicted to volleyball. I love love love it! Currently, I'm not playing on a team. I'm not sure If I will have time to join one next season, but that doesn't change the fact that I play any chance I get.

I'm highly competitive...EXTREMELY competitive. I would say I'm a good sport though. I get my competitiveness from my father. Family game night can get pretty intense- whether or not my dad and I are on the same team or not. lol.

My nickname (besides Elvis) is Monk. It's my absolute favorite show. It's a nickname of mine because I possess a few OCD quirks. lol. I have my Monk-moments. : )

I don't have a favorite color. I have a favorite color combination- red, black, and white. Can you tell? lol

WOW! I did better than I thought! There's still much more to me, but that's just something you will have to figure out all on your own. : ) I look forward to sharing more with you as this blog progresses.
